The iPod-Mania revealed a lot of more or less useful gadgets :-) One of the more useful gadgets is the iceLink from Dension. I received it last Friday and the installation worked like a charm. It took me twenty minutes to install it in my Audi A3 Sportsback and it worked right from the beginning without a fuss. Now my iPod runs as a CD changer controlled over my Stereo with superb sound quality. It’s a lot cheaper than the CD changer from Audi (EUR 149 vs. EUR 600!) and there’s no need in changing CDs all the time. :-)
If you want a seamless iPod integration in your car, give iceLink a try! It’s available for all kind of car stereos.
Hi Tomblogg,
congrats with your new toy :-)
eager to hear from your icelink experiences. I’m looking forward to your icelink stories, and in the meantime I’m still seriously considering writing to apple &/or audi on this matter.
My car is also an audi A3 Sportsback (great huh :-)) , however I’m feeling a little but (much) ripped of by audi & apple. They make clear promotions about ipod car integration, and they even advertise using the Audi interior on their website (here: http://www.apple.com/ipod/ipodyourcar/). Looks great, sounds great, but I cannot find any link to the native integration support, not on apple, not even on audi website … So I’m feeling really like a fooled consumer :-( to be continued ?(…)
cheers, and let the music play !
I had an extremely clear message from my Audi-Dealer here in Germany: No, we don’t expect to have an iPod integration until 2007 or 2008 :-(
So far, Apples site is wrong, if they really mean there is an integration from Audi in particular. But it looks like they mean iceLink as well ;-)
thanks for your confirmation about the Audi-dealer, also in Belgium nobody knows what this ipod and Audi integration could be. They all point to third-party products. Let’s write Apple about it :) In the meantime, pls post your ice-experiences… :)
