I really like korean food. The only problem: They use a lot of fresh garlic! Yesterday evening we had a fantastic „Bulgogi“. It came with a lot of fine dishes full of Vegetables like Gimchi, Spinach, Salad, Radish and… fresh Garlic.
I know exactly what causes my bad feelings today and why my stomach needs some attention since five o’clock in the morning.
Damn Garlic….
Es ist wieder soweit: Die neuen Termine zur Interwhisky 2006 liegen vor. Dieses Jahr findet erstmalig auch eine Veranstaltung in Hamburg statt (vom 7. bis 9. April). Erstaunlicherweise sind die Temine in Frankfurt um etwa zwei Wochen nach hinten verlegt worden (1. bis 3. Dezember). Ob das eventuell mit dem dann nahenden Weihnachtsgeschäft zu tun hat?
Da in Hamburg einer meiner besten Freunde wohnt, läge es ja nahe, dieses Jahr zwei Mal dort aufzutauchen :-)
Sometimes you’ll need to find out the connected Volumes on OS X within your Director Application (e.g. to check if a specific CD is inserted). The BuddyAPI Xtra is not much of a help (but it will find all Volumes on a PC). So: How to do it?
Valentin Schmidt created the wonderful shellXtra, which connects your Application with an OS X Shell. If you are familiar with Shell programming, it will allow you things to do you never imagined! It’s for free and very easy to operate.
The following routine will browse through your Volumes and check for a specific file. It uses a combination of ShellXtra and BuddyAPI:

For those of you working with Director: If you haven’t noticed already, there is a Beta of Phosphor available. Phosphor is a first person shooter created by Nick Kang.
It’s very amazing to see what is possible with Director and Shockwave 3D. Grafics are rendered in a quality seen on PS1 or in computer games three years ago – with one big difference: This one is running in your browser, has a filesize of 4MB(!) and is capable of serving multiuser games right out of the box. If you are running it just for yourself, up to 8 Bots are trying to make your life harder as it was a few minutes ago.

Mein Freund Martin hat mich vor kurzem als „Kulturpessimisten“ tituliert. Nicht gerade schmeichelhaft für mich, aber man wird halt immer wieder darin bestätigt.
Vor kurzem habe ich hier das „Next big thing, really“ verlinkt. Auf YouTube.com gab es nämlich dieses ergreifende Musikvideo der abslout untalentierten Kerle, die weder einen Ton treffen während Ihres „Gesanges“, noch sonst irgendein Talent besitzen. Der ganze Hype um das grottenschlechte Video hatte nun zur Folge, dass die Jungs auf RTL und Sat1 gelandet sind – mit Interview, Vorstellung und dem ganzen Gerödel. Ach ja – einen Plattenvertrag haben sie jetzt auch, weil die Musikindustrie „das Talent der drei“ erkannt hat…
Martin mag Recht haben mit seiner Behauptung, es gibt aber auch keinen Grund, von dieser Meinung abzurücken, oder? Ich weiß ja nicht, wie es Euch da draußen so ergeht, aber man fühlt sich doch mehr als verar****.
